About Us Middletown Recreation Swim Team (MRST) Barracudas is a year round instructional and competitive swimming organization. MRST is a member of United States Swimming (USS), the Empire State Swim League (ESSL), Metro Swimming, and the Orange-Dutchess Swim League (ODSL). MRST practices are held at the Middletown High School pool during the school year. Occasionally during the month of July, practices may be held at the outdoor pool at Maple Hill Park in the City of Middletown, New York. Team competitions are held at many different locations within the Metropolitan area. MRST Athletes range in age from 5 years to 18 years in age. Athletes are placed in an appropriate level of programming based upon their skill level. We also offer a “Barracuda in Training Program” for those swimmers not quite ready to compete at swim meets. These levels are divided amongst B.I.T., Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels, depending on ability. Each level has goals for swimmers to attain.
